Showing God's Love and Living Christ's Love in St Mellons

Getting Back in the Building

Getting Back in the Building

Hallelujah! In December 2020, there was much more uncertainty, and although we were allowed to meet in person for worship under Welsh Government guidelines, the leadership took the decision to suspend services in the building and make use of online services. We felt this was the responsible and necessary path to take to help tackle the ongoing coronavirus situation. After months of uncertainty and worry, there are the glimpses of hope that our journey on the road to recovery is underway. Therefore, it seems appropriate that we look to going back into the Church building and meeting once again for collective worship in person, and what can be a better time for this ‘resurrection’ of our face-to-face fellowship than Easter Sunday!

Please be prepared for a very different service. If you decide to stay at home, we are planning to Live stream the service at http://service.cotr.org.uk. If you are coming, please be prompt and sanitise your hands on entry. You will need to wear a facemask and maintain social distancing at all times while in the building.

You will be able to sit with your household and support “bubble”, but please remain 2m apart from everyone else. The room will be laid out to make sure this is possible. You will be directed to your chair and asked to remain there for the duration of the service.

We will only have access to the entrance hall, trophy room and main hall. The toilets will be available.  If you use them, please sanitise all surfaces you touch with the materials provided and dispose in the bins positioned in the toilets.

There may be music, but no singing during the service.

Colouring activities will be provided for children during the service but these must take place in their seat and under parent’s supervision. Please bring your own drawing/colouring pens or pencils.

There will be no refreshments after the service. Please bring your own water bottle if required.

After the service, please leave the building quickly but in an orderly manner. You can have a socially distanced catch up once outside but please do not block the exit.

There is a strict limit on numbers due to social distancing requirements.  If you are going to join us in the building please email us with the names and number of people attending in your bubble. Places will be allocated in order of response, and a confirming email will be sent by Friday 2nd April.

Please pray for God’s help as we work this out together.
